Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility

The Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility is owned by Clayton County and leased to the private prison corporation GEO Group.  The facility began detaining immigrants for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in late 2018, following the City of Atlanta’s announcement that the Atlanta City Detention Center (ACDC) would no longer be used for ICE detention.

Deyton has the capacity to incarcerate 768 individuals.  The facility has been criticized by Georgia Detention Watch and other advocacy groups for restricting access to visitation.
